"Hypertextual Moon Atlas"

based on
A. Rükl "Atlas of the Moon"

MORETUS

The South Pole of the Moon lies in the center of the bottom edge of the Section. Earth-based observation of the area close to the pole is very difficult, and some parts are constantly hidden behind hills and crater walls. The Clementine space probe mapped this region first time in detail (1994).
